Last weekend at Resistance Wine Company, we set the time machine to the 1960s and let the vibes do the rest. What was supposed to be a laid-back night of wine and records turned into a full-on, full-volume, full-fabulous fashion-meets-vino throwdown.

Yes, there was wine. Yes, there was vinyl. And yes, a fashion show erupted. We didn’t plan it — but Resistance doesn’t follow the script anyway.

The Spin Masters

Chris McKean curated the evening’s soundtrack with a playlist so on point it could’ve been pressed on wax right there. Soulful, bold, irreverent — like our wine, but with more guitar solos.

Then came Kelly Ross, who took to the turntables and made it look way too easy. With every flip of a record and flick of the wrist, she had people dancing, swaying, and air-guitaring in places usually reserved for “wine swirl and sniff.” She turned a tasting room into a time capsule and somehow made nostalgia feel fresh.

Three wines showed up with no intention of playing it cool:

Collab — crisp, golden, and as stylish as a vintage typewriter in a leather satchel.
Wingman — always got your back, especially when paired with a vinyl deep cut and a mischievous grin.
Resistance Rosé — beachy, bold, and effortlessly charming — like if the summer of love wore a crown of hibiscus.

Together, they weren’t just poured — they performed.

The Couch, But Make It Symbolic

Yes, that patio couch. The temporary one. The one that looks like it time-traveled from a mid-century Palm Springs pool party. It’s not just a piece of outdoor furniture — it’s a declaration: the new Resistance patio is coming. And in the meantime? People lounged, laughed, and lived their best lives on what may be the most accidentally iconic placeholder furniture in Ashland.

A Fashion Show Walked In and Took Over

Somewhere between a Sam Cooke groove and a sip of rosé, a fashion show spontaneously combusted. Fringe jackets. Mod sunglasses. Someone in boots that made the floor tremble. It was as if the 60s crawled out of the speakers, grabbed a glass, and said, “We’re staying awhile.”
