Privacy Policy
Last updated August 29, 2026
This policy covers resistance.wine, the website of Resistance Wine Company in Ashland, Oregon. We collect as little as we can get away with, we don’t sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.
Buying wine happens in a store operated by Vinoshipper, our licensed fulfilment partner, embedded on our pages. When you check out you are transacting with Vinoshipper under their privacy policy and their terms. Card numbers never reach our servers, and we never see them.
What we collect
When you book a tasting
Your name, email address, and party size, which we need to hold the table; your phone number, occasion, dietary restrictions and any special requests, all optional, which we use to run the visit well. Dietary notes are handled as what they are — sensitive — and are seen only by the staff working your booking.
When you write to us
Whatever you put in the contact form: typically name, email and your message. We use it to answer you.
When you join the list
Your email address, and your name if you give it. We use it to send you wine news, release and event notices. Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works on the first click.
Automatically
Our servers keep ordinary web logs — IP address, browser and operating system, the pages requested, and when. These are used to keep the site up and to investigate abuse, and are not used to build a profile of you.
What we don’t collect
- Payment details. No card numbers, no expiry dates, no bank details. Ever. Vinoshipper handles all of it.
- Account passwords. This site has no customer accounts to log into.
- Data about children. This is a winery site. It is not directed to anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
Cookies and analytics
As of the date above, this site sets no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies, and runs no third-party tracking tags. It uses only the cookies needed to make pages work, such as remembering that you have passed the age gate.
The Vinoshipper store embedded on our shop pages sets its own cookies to keep your cart and run checkout. Those are governed by Vinoshipper’s privacy policy.
If we add analytics later, we will say so here and change the date at the top of this page before it goes live.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do use service providers who process it on our behalf, only for the job we hired them for:
- Vinoshipper — store, payment and wine fulfilment
- Our email provider — sending the newsletter and booking confirmations
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers — running the site and its database
- Shipping carriers — delivering your wine
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to: a subpoena, a court order, a lawful request from a regulator, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud or protect someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
Reservation records are kept as long as we need them to run the tasting room and meet our record-keeping obligations as a licensed winery. Mailing-list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact-form messages are kept as long as the conversation is useful. Ask us to delete something and we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it.
- Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it, and we will.
- Decline the optional fields when you book. Name, email and party size are the only ones we need.
Depending on where you live — Oregon, California and several other states — you may have additional rights over your personal information. Ask and we will honour them; we will not charge you for asking or treat you differently for it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell the people affected directly.
