Backyard Blues & BBQ Concert Series: Duke Street event
Blues. BBQ. Wine. Bad decisions made responsibly. Some wineries pair wine with quiet jazz and a cube of cheese the size of a postage stamp. We’re doing blues guitar, smoked meat, cold rosé, and summer nights that accidentally turn into closing time. Backyard Blues & BBQ is our summer concert series built for people who like their wine less pretentious and their evenings a little louder. Expect: Live blues, roots & Americana BBQ worth wearing black for Resistance wine by the glass & bottle Backyard party energy At least one person dancing like nobody’s filming This isn’t a formal wine event. It’s summer rebellion with a soundtrack. Grab tickets early. Bring friends. Stay too long. Duke Street JUNE 20th- 7:00pm Duke Street serves up the kind of blues that pairs dangerously well with BBQ, Syrah, and accidentally staying out way too late on a Friday. Straight out of Ashland, this crew blends Blues, R&B, and Soul into a live show packed with groove, grit, and enough swagger to make your wine taste better. These musicians have played alongside legends like Robert Cray, Solomon Burke, Lowell Fulson, and Grant Green — so no, this is not your cousin’s garage band covering “Sweet Home Chicago” badly. And yes - Kirk has no idea who any of these people are… Expect everything from Howlin’ Wolf and Willie Dixon vibes to deep soul rhythms that make it very difficult to sit politely in your chair. Stone Soul Satisfaction. Smoked meat. Good wine. Questionable bedtime decisions. That’s the evening. Check out Duke Street Brisbane Project July 11th- 7:00pm The Brisbane Project doesn’t play background music. They play the kind of blues that makes you order another glass, lean back in your chair, and suddenly start telling strangers stories from 1997. Led by guitarist Michael Ian Brisbane, bassist Mike Pugh, and drummer Ray Kilmon, this powerhouse trio blends traditional blues soul with modern energy, gritty grooves, and enough musical chemistry to make the whole backyard feel electric. Formed in 2020, they’ve built a reputation for live shows that hit somewhere between “damn, these guys are good” and “well… there goes my reasonable bedtime.” Expect: - Big blues energy - Soulful grooves - Ridiculously good musicianship - BBQ smoke in the air - Wine flowing irresponsibly responsibly Summer rebellion never sounded this good. Adam GAbriel and The Cavaliers August 15th- 7:00pm If Ray Charles, Bob Seger, and a dive bar somewhere south of Memphis had a very talented love child, it might sound something like Adam Gabriel & The Cavaliers. This is soulful rock, swampy blues, gritty guitar, and the kind of raw vocals that make you stop mid-conversation and say, “Okay… these guys are legit.” Fresh off a 23-show national tour and the release of Still Standing, Adam Gabriel brings a live show packed with Southern grit, foot-stomping energy, and enough soul to pair perfectly with smoked BBQ and a dangerously drinkable bottle of Syrah. Some songs will make you sway. Some will make you dance. Some may result in ordering another round you absolutely did not plan on. That sounds like summer to us. The Fret Drifters September 12th- 7:00pm Two guitars. Zero excuses. The Fret Drifters are the award-winning acoustic duo of Andy Casad and Nick Garrett-Powell — bringing ridiculous guitar talent, high-energy performances, and enough musical horsepower to make people suddenly stop talking mid-wine sip. Based out of Southern Oregon, these guys have toured across the Pacific Northwest and Australia (short commute), opened for legends like Tommy Emmanuel and Eric Johnson, and built a reputation for absolutely melting faces… acoustically. Expect: Fast fingers Big Fret energy Blues, folk, rock & acoustic wizardry Packed-house backyard party vibes At least one moment where someone mutters “how are there only two people making that much sound?” This one’s for music nerds, wine drinkers, and anyone who appreciates wildly talented people making it look unfairly easy.
